Writing the Introduction and Conclusion

Both introduction and conclusion are important parts of your research paper. As a framework to your text, they are a guideline for the reader, providing brief information about essential aspects of your paper: e.g., your research question, the intended results as well as the structure of your text. In this workshop you will learn what are typical elements of an introduction and a conclusion, what is their function in a research paper, and which are typical phrases used in these sections. During this workshop, you will also write a first draft of a possible introduction and conclusion to the research paper you are currently writing.
