UNIC 14_1 Bridging Rural e-Service-Learning and Challenge-Based Learning: A Practical Workshop for Higher Education

This workshop is part of UNIC InterTeach: intercultural and innovative teaching and learning – UNIC’s professional development programme for university teachers under the theme of ‘Challenge Based Learning’.

The goal of the workshop is to equip teachers and trainers with skills to design, develop, deliver and assess effective and holistic virtual rural challenge-based learning experiences for students. The participants will be able to explore the use of emerging technologies up to their full potential while employing learning experience design strategies.

In the workshop you will meet university educators of partner-universities of the UNIC-Alliance, who are based in: Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey.

In this international setting you will familiarize with common principles shared by virtual rural challenge-based learning (CBL) and rural e-service learning (e-SL), you will select appropriate e-SL tools for different phases of a CBL project, reflect on ways to overcome obstacles in rural initiatives and unlock potential of geographically disadvantaged communities and develop strategies for stronger community partnerships, reflection and impact. You will have the chance to network with other teachers from the UNIC alliance.

The workshop will take place in Zoom and be held in English (lingua franca).
