UNIC 15_1 How to set goals and assess their achievement in Challenge based Learning? (2-day workshop)

​This workshop is part of UNIC InterTeach: intercultural and innovative teaching and learning – UNIC’s professional development programme for university teachers under the theme ‘CBL’.

The goal of the workshop is to learn about the types of learning objectives that can be set for and with students using the Challenge based Learning, and to tailor the process of assessing their achievement to these objectives.

In the workshop you will meet university educators of partner-universities of the UNIC-Alliance, who are based in: Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey.

In this international setting you will analyse the learning objectives and learning outcomes associated with the CBL method, consider what types of objectives are important for students and teachers in practical approaches and select appropriate assessment methods to match them. It will be important for you to view assessment in CBL as a form of formative assessment, rather than one based solely on summative assessment. Participants will design objectives and assessment methods (taking into account assessment points, criteria and assessors) tailored to your own courses and disciplines. The completed assignment should be sent to the facilitator (Kamila Pytka, kamila.pytka@uni.lodz.pl) up to and including 2 February 2027 and will form the basis for obtaining a proof of attendance for these workshops.

The workshop will take place online via Microsoft Teams and be held in English (lingua franca). Invitations to both training sessions will be sent out as soon as registration for the session closes.
